Getting Started
How do I create my first story?
Simply open the app and tap "Create Story". Choose a genre, select your favorite characters, pick a story length, and optionally add your child's name or a custom idea. Then tap the "Create Story" button and wait for the magic to happen!
What are Stars and how do I get them?
Stars are the virtual currency used to create stories. You receive free welcome stars when you first use the app, and you can earn free stars daily. Additional stars can be purchased through in-app purchases or by subscribing to a plan.
How much does it cost to create a story?
The cost depends on the story length and format. Short stories cost fewer stars, while longer stories or stories with images/video cost more. The exact cost is always displayed before you confirm the creation.
Stories & Playback
Where are my stories saved?
All stories are saved locally on your device in the "My Stories" library. They remain there until you delete them or uninstall the app.
Can I continue a story?
Yes! If a story has the continuation button (blue arrow icon), you can create a sequel. Simply tap the button, choose the length for the continuation, and a new chapter will be generated that continues where the original left off.
Can I listen to stories offline?
Yes! Once a story is created and saved to your library, you can listen to it anytime without an internet connection.
How do I delete a story?
In your library, tap the three dots (•••) next to the story you want to delete, then select "Delete". This action cannot be undone.
Subscriptions & Purchases
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone, find the Hörbuch App subscription, and tap "Cancel Subscription".
I purchased stars but they didn't appear. What should I do?
First, try restarting the app. If the stars still don't appear, go to Settings in the app and tap "Restore Purchases". If the issue persists, please contact us using the form below.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund through Apple's "Report a Problem" website at reportaproblem.apple.com or through the Apple Support app.
Technical Issues
Story generation is taking a long time. Is this normal?
Story generation typically takes 1-3 minutes depending on the length and whether images are included. Longer stories with video may take up to 5-10 minutes. Please ensure you have a stable internet connection and don't close the app during generation.
The app crashed during story creation. Did I lose my stars?
If a story fails to generate due to a technical error, your stars should not be deducted. If you notice stars were deducted for a failed story, please contact us with details and we'll help resolve the issue.
Audio playback isn't working. What can I do?
Try these steps: 1) Make sure your device isn't on silent mode, 2) Check that the volume is turned up, 3) Try closing and reopening the app, 4) Restart your device. If the problem persists, please contact support.
💡 Tips for Best Results
Tip 1: Be specific with your ideas
When adding a custom idea, include specific details like settings, themes, or situations. For example: "A story about finding a lost puppy in the park" works better than just "a dog story".
Tip 2: Choose matching characters
Select characters that fit well together for more coherent stories. Mixing fantasy characters (unicorns, dragons) or animal characters often creates magical adventures!
Tip 3: Start with shorter stories
If you're new to the app, try creating shorter stories first to see what you like. You can always create longer stories or continuations later.
Important: Stories are generated by AI and are intended for entertainment. While we implement safety measures, we recommend parents preview stories before sharing with young children.
